Working away from home allowance is a part of the salary which is been provided to the employee who come away from home. This pact was introduced by ATO for the benefit of employee who is working away from home.

Generally a rule of LAFHA is that it will be maximum provided for fours years to international employee and two years to domestic employee. Working away from home allowance is paid according to the size of the family. If the family size is big, then company has to pay higher allowance to the employee. Company is responsible for employee's basic needs, because employee have changed the location on the company's demand.

Currency difference

The most important reason of providing working away from home allowance is that, if the employee has changed the country then there will be currency difference. If the employee belongs to any developing country and then he has been send to developed country, and then it will be difficult for the employee to manage in same salary. Hence employee is been provided with working away from home allowance.
